“Scion’s Hako Coupe Concept embodies a distinct global perspective on today’s youth,” said Jack Hollis, Scion vice president. “This type of forward thinking complements the Scion philosophy of intently listening to our customers and being willing to take risks to help us see where our brand should be. We took the xB’s iconic boxy shape and explored something more vivacious, yet just as emotionally appealing. This concept is the sporty version of a box.”
Hmmm maybe - the scary thing is that a marketing exec may actually believe believe this type of double talk. I guess the good news is that concept cars are just concepts which will never be built. Apparently the Scion Hako was developed based on American coupes - obviously orange is the new black and boxy is the new sleek streamlined -or am I missing something. Apparently the profile I see as boxy and ugly actually “conveys a powerful stance in a compact and bold package” go figure!
The bizarre rectanglish LED headlights - are large and aggressive - I could almost agree with that - but I dont see why it would make me want to buy the car! Apparently the Hako is designed to be customised: for example you could add your own pattern to the flat roof - yeah - Lissie’s car - I always wanted that on my roof! The inside at least is designed to be easy care ignoring traditional leather for wipe clean urethan - plastic to you and me.
