Only in America could we celebrate National Donut Dayobviously brought to you by Kirspy Kreme. We are all supposed to be on healthy diets and then suddenly Kirspy Kreme is giving away donuts. Fantastic
Goodness knows where the obsession we deep fried sugar came from in the US - although companies such as Krispy Kreme have been trying to export donuts to the world its really only in the US that deep fried sugar has breakfast appeal. The Australian’s prefer their Weetbix cereal and the Brits their bacon and eggs, the Scottish like smoked fish and the French croissants. The Spanish are maybe the closest with a donut like breakfast but basically Americans are out on a culinary limb on this one. So I am afraid the fact that South West airlines are gviing away the nasty donuts really leaves me cold.

Yes, but my dogs just love donuts and once a year we walk down to Krispy Kreme to get those grease laden balls of flour and sugar. I just can’t wait until next year for National Donut Day to get some more free fat pills.
